Iron pills are cheap if you shop around (Kroger has some for $4 or $5). Talk to your doc about anemia. That will definitely help you to be in control and keep you from getting really hungry throughout the day if you can't have proper meals at your regular mealtimes. Apples would be great, and a peanut butter sandwich (made with natural peanut butter on whole wheat bread) would be great as well.
